The Koinonia Festival on May 10 was a real success! Billy and Tammy Miller, members of Trinity Methodist Church in Warner Robins, gathered cookers, tents, trailers and more, plus members of Boy Scout Troop 142 in Warner Robins, and spearheaded a day of outreach In Ft Valley. "The event could not have been what it was without the generosity and help of those two" said Pastor Bruce, "They are on fire for Jesus and it really shows!" Newsletter Editor Jana Jones got the approval of the City to use the Court House parking lot in downtown Ft Valley, which is conveniently located within walking distance of many homes. Close to 200 hot dogs and 100 hamburgers were lovingly prepared and served to everyone in attendance and "to go" plates were sent to a nearby Senior Citizen’s Home. Every item donated, including Microwaves, TVs, Beds, Kitchen furniture, household goods, bags of food, clothes of all sizes and so much more, was "sold" in a One Penny Yard Sale (pennies supplied by Grace Fellowship). As a special treat, the Praise Band from Trinity Methodist performed contemporary Christian music to the delight of everyone! Grace Fellowship volunteers included Petey and Brenda Salter, Mae and Vaughn Hardy with Vontrice and Neffy, Dave Arlington, Don & Lisa Lee, Terri Kersey, Danny Lastinger, Sylvia Ellenberg and Emily Vincent, Sarah Cooper, Les Brown and Ursula Garcia, Donna Pate, and Dusty Coleman. Pastor Bruce said afterwards that "this day blessed those who volunteered just as much as those who were served." A barbeque for those who suffered from the effects of the recent tornado in Macon, is being planned as the next Grace Fellowship Community Outreach event. Interested volunteers please sign up at church or call the church office.
